The Bengals on ESPN

Email Inbox

Our email inbox is filled almost every day and we've decided a good portion of the heartfelt concern for the Bengals and support for our site needs a forum.  As you might expect not every email we've received has been positive, but we've taken care to give press to both sides of the Mike Brown argument.

Opposing Viewpoints

I think this web site sucks big time!! You think Mike really wants to lose?
Come on, grow up! The better the team does the more money he makes. What would you do as general manager ???? Remember, you can't use hindsight. I think all you are doing is making it worse. Maybe the petition you are trying to get people to sign should be directed at the NFL. Maybe if the salary cap was true it would be more even. The fault in the Bengals being 3 and 3  instead of 0 and 6 lies with Akili Smith, not Mike Brown. Maybe if you were more of a football fan you would understand these things . As you can tell i am not too proud of this web site. I have been a Bengal's fan for 20 years and I wish they were winning too, but this is so childish! Grow up! What do you do for a living? Imagine if you had to compete every Friday against the guy down the street that does the same job as you. How many would you win? Remember, he is trying to win too . I am going now. The longer I sit here the more pissed at you I become. I know you don't understand how football works, but maybe you could ask somebody that does know and you will quit this shit .

Grow up and support your team!

I happen to like Mike Brown he dosn't have the great football mind or skills his late father Paul had but it is his team and I think he does the best job he can do with what he has to work with. I dont think he makes the right decisions all the time but nobody Does all the time. I beleve he should hire somebody to take over the football operations side of the team but he should still have the final say on how the money is spent.

I HAVE BEEN A BENGALS FAN SINCE THEIR BEGINNING. THROUGH THE GOOD TIMES AND THE BAD TIMES! I AM A BENGALS FAN FOR LIFE AND I AM DAMN PROUD TO SAY IT!!!!!!!

SO LAY OFF MIKE!

P.S. IF YOU REALLY WANT THE TEAM TO WIN START SUPPORTING THEM MORE AND GUIT READING AND BELEVEING ALL THAT NEGITIVE BULLSHIT THE REPORTERS WRITE IN THE PAPER. EMAIL THE PLAYERS IF CAN OR WRITE THEM TELL THEM YOU ARE BEHIND THEM AND TELL THEM THAT THEY ARE DOING A GREAT JOB. IF THEY KNOW THE FANS APPRECIATES WHAT THEY ARE DOING MAYBE THEY WOULD GO OUT AND PLAY THE GAME WITH A NEW ATTITUDE AND MAKE IT A POINT TO WIN THE GAMES BECAUSE THEY KNOW THE FANS CARE!! (YOU HAVE NEVER HEARD OF A BROWNS FAN JUMPING SHIP JUST BECAUSE THEIR TEAM ISN'T WINNING) THEY HAVE DIEHARD FANS UP THERE WHY CANT WE HAVE THAT HERE? IT WOULD MAKE A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE TO THE TEAM IF WE DID!!!!!!!
A DIEHARD BENGALS FAN FOREVER

Positive Support

I've lived here in Cincy all my life. I'm 20, so I was too young for the first Super Bowl, but I definitely remember the second. I remember learning the game and loving it. I though it was so cool to have a good team right here in Cincinnati. Obviously, all that has changed now. I have strayed, and am now a Bills fan. I'd be more than happy to root for the Bengals...except that they don't play anymore. They have been replaced by Mike Brown's Bungals.

The most painful thing for me to see is the fans who still root for them. Hello! It's not going to happen. People say that everyone makes mistakes, and this is very true. There are also some people who are not suited to do a job. Mike Brown is obviously not suited to be a GM. EVERYONE realizes this, even him. But contrary to all conventional and unconventional reasoning, he refuses to step down. He has obviously given himself more than a few chances. Remember the Golden Age of the Mike Brown era? 7-9! 8-8! Wow!! Two years without double-digit losses. We can only hope to have that kind of success sometime in the middle of this decade! I can't wait. Just keep on rooting for them, I'm sure that Mike Brown will eventually do something right.

Keep up the good work guys.  Good luck to all of us.

I'm just another "lost fan". Had tickets for 18 years the last 6 of which I found someone to buy the damned things, still hoping for a turnaround in the team that didn't happen. Well at least we had some of the good times while at Riverfront! Do you remember the Freezer Bowl, Joe Willie's last appearance, and Forrest Greg? We'll never see the likes of that again nor will we see a competitive football team as long a Mike Brown tries to be the
football man his father was...what an inept individual! By the way, we now have Miami University football and Hockey season tickets and find this much more enjoyable. Other fans should consider such a trade off. The new stadium was as big a rip-off to the taxpayers of Hamilton County as the fluxuating gas prices are to everyone.
Great Web Site by the way.

I just wanted to let you know that I've signed the petition and linked your webpage to my Bengals site. Hopefully, with a direct goal, actual support from fans, businesses and sponsors alike, and togetherness, we can actually force Mike Brown to hire a General
Manager from outside the organization and separate the business and football operations.

Mike's head is like a rock, but when he sees the $$$, and even realizes that he could lose it, his hands turn to jello. Lets prove this idea to be true.

Thanks,

Chris

How about also sending this to the top business leaders of the city. If there is any institution capable of strong-arming Mike Brown to make changes to the team, aside from the NFL, it would be those large companies that have a stake in how the city is viewed from the outside. More than happy to help topple the inept management of the Bengals' organization. It has not been the same since Paul Brown died (he took the heart, soul, and pride of the
team with him). Good Luck with the fight.
I hope this helps.

My name is Chad Brogan. I was born and raised and currently live in Cincinnati.
I just want to write and let you know what a great site this is. Mike Brown is a disgrace and embarrasment to this city and proffesional football. If there is anything I could help with, I would be more than happy to do.

Thanks for your time!

Chad

finally a website that gives enraged fans an outlet please let us find mike brown's personal email address( if the old fossil knows what a computer is!) and bonbard him with email saying please for the love of f**kin' america get a general manager of football operations and keep makin your money

Michael

I wish you luck with the petition, I hope it works. I use to be a big football fan, unfortunately the players today, do not play with the heart and sole and love of the game. Players like Munoz, and Walter Peyton, and all the players of that generation, played each game at 100% plus, today these guys seem to kind of just get thru the game. I would like to say something to Mike Brown, "your father is turning over in his grave, he would be soooo disappointed in you" Give up the title and the dollars of GM, bring in competence, clean house from top to bottom, and give us a team to be proud of, that is the very least you can and should do for repayment, and thanks for the new stadium we gave to you!!!!!!!!!!!

Dear sirs,

First, I need to tell you that I am a Steeler fan. But I just want you to know how much I NEED Mike Brown to stay with the Bengals. Having lost so many times to both the Bengals and the Browns, I can only be assured of one thing in sports. Please don't let Mike give the keys to someone who might actually know what to do with them. I do, however, appreciate your spirit, and to that end, hope you all the best of luck, in finding a "football mind"
to run your organization.

Many other blessings to you and yours,

Tom

I LOVE your site!!! Keep it up!!! If there is any help you require, I would be glad to
pitch in and write an article or somthing.

Thanks,
Tom P.

Keep up the good work. There's really nothing else we can do. I'll be monitoring the web site and helping out as best I can. It really sucks to be fans of a team owned by the sickest human being on the face of the earth. I think he actually enjoys the losing and the pain it causes his "customers." I could go on forever but you definitely get the point.

Jim in Columbus (FORMER season ticket holder)

Heard about your site on Jim Rome's show today. Thank goodness somebody is doing something to improve the sorry state of our hapless Bengals. I grew up in Northern KY and have always been a Bengals fan. It is embarrassing to see what this team has become over the last decade. Good luck in your crusade to restore some dignity to the Bengals
franchise. Wishing I had a Skyline four-way right now, Matt in Austin

You probably already know but if you don't you got some press today in the Columbus Dispatch. Keep up the good work. I didn't know you had this site but now I Know you're here and I'll spread the word to other "DISGRUNTLED BENGAL fans that I know. You will have support here in Columbus.

As the only acknowledged Bengal fan in Connecticut, and since 1969, i might add, my pain is unbearable. Even with the stunning victory over the Broncos last weekend, my darkest fears still haunt my football consciousness- Corey Dillion will become a Patriot or a Chief, Tim Couch will be a better quarterback than Akili Smith, Darnay Scott will be
forced to medically retire, and the Mike and Katie show will continue to
embarass us all.

Peter King mentioned you guys in his MMQB feature on Cnnsi.com this week. That is why I checked out your cool web site. Hang in there. I am a Packers fan. They said a lot of the same things about us 10 years ago. Then the executive committee finally wised up, and started to bring in smart football people, not old guys with ties to the team.
Look what happened.
